School Handbook

Parent/Visitor Parking:
Parent/visitor parking is in the south parking lot off of Country Vista Lane. Visitors please enter the building through the south doors. All other doors remain locked.

School Visitations:
Please sign in at the office and pick up a visitor sticker to wear anytime you are in the building.

Birthday Celebrations:
In honor of your child’s birthday, you may donate a class book, rainy day game, or special learning-based item for the classroom. Please contact your child’s teacher for ideas and how your child will be recognized on his or her special day.
Please do not bring snacks/treats for your child’s birthday. This policy was implemented in an effort to maintain the learning and teaching environment. Special celebrations and/or holiday festivities will be held during the school year; these will be the only times when parents may bring in “store-bought only” treats for the classroom.

Please do not send any flowers or balloons to be delivered to the classroom. It is important to avoid any interruptions in student learning, and they are not allowed on the school bus.

Lost and Found:
Lost and found items are located in the hall outside the office. Students or parents may check with the office when items are lost. Please label all of your child’s items – backpack, coats, boots, mittens, lunch box, etc. Then if an item shows up in the office, it can quickly be returned to the owner!

Parent Volunteers:
LIberty Creek Elementary welcomes you as a partner in the education of our students. Your gifts of time and talents are greatly appreciated and will be put to good use in the classroom working with students or by helping teachers with classroom preparation work. All volunteers are required to register with the district before volunteering at school by completing the School Volunteer Application form available in our offic or on our district website to ensure the safety of our students. Once you have been approved as a volunteer, you will receive a training orientation to familiarize you with volunteering at Liberty Creek Elementary.

Please call the school attendance line at 558-6363 if your child will be absent or miss any class time.  This information is extremely helpful in securing the safe arrival of your child. Regular attendance is important for student learning achievement as well as developing an interest in school and a sense of responsibility.

Your child is considered tardy five minutes after the beginning of the school day/session. Please understand that tardiness is disruptive to the learning environment and deprives your child of valuable learning time.
